The Giving Tree , authored by Shel Silverstein – One of the most used books to teach kids about the possible power of just giving with nothing in return.

I got this book as a birthday present from my mentor. It’s one of her favorite books too !

The book talks mainly about the tree and it’s friend a boy. The boy is always seeking from the tree from its fruit, branches, trunk and at last it’s shade and company.

The tree on the other hand is always giving with the hope that the boy would be happy and he would come play with it.

I’m surprised that the boy never give s back anything to the tree . The tree also never expects anything back. I guess that’s the nature of Mother Nature. Every time I see the tree in my backyard I remember the giving tree.

If you haven’t read it let’s make it a must read. Because there is a lot of philosophy to learn from this book.
