36: Fear of failure

Let me tell you I’m very fearful of failing on my learning new skills.

because I have good math and say music skills I may not be good at other things.

I’m fearful that I may not have the same level of success in other endeavors.

I know I first hav to try but I’m also thinking about how to overcome this feeling that I may not be good at that. I know I’m being overly thinking about this but I’m just thinking.

Now that I’m able to share my thoughts and feelings here, I thought of putting this thought here so other s can give me ideas and peoples experiences of their failures.

More like others I only think that I’m going to just try out hope right mindset and then the right mentors are going to help me get there.

  1. Everyone who has achieved something worthy has failed many times to get there. I have many personal experiences of failure but know that failure is just an outcome. It’s not final.

Edison is known to have tried a 1000 combinations of the electric bulb designs before he was successful. Famously he said every time that he found another way of how not to do the bulb.

I learnt a lot about failure from sports. In most competitive sports there is a team that loses and one that wins. It always amazes me that sometimes there is so little difference between the two.

In baseball, those that have the most strikeouts also have the most homeruns. They are not afraid to swing.

    1. Thanks, I think I’m still figuring out how not to do some things. Grateful to Year’s of experiments years of failure by scientists to have given us what we have now.

  2. I’m so glad you voiced this! It is something very relatable for many. What has helped me is to tell myself, “if it doesn’t go as expected, so what? I will try again. And if it doesn’t work again? I will reevaluate what my goal really is or method effectiveness.” The first thing that matters is that you try 🙂

    1. Sutikshana thank fou say I’m doing that now, trying things with out any prejudice. Maybe I am down early that day. I’m good now. Say excited to try new things.

  3. I can relate to that situation Abhi! I think this feeling comes up naturally when you try something new. Let me tell you my experience. When I tried to learn something new and I couldn’t execute, I used to feel discouraged. Then I realized that instead of feeling sad, I can learn from it.
The key is to believe in yourself, and you will be unstoppable. 😊
