Puzzled only I was when I caught myself just not getting easy things correct yesterday . On doing some careful examination I have realized just how overconfident I am!
Typically when some one is good at something they can get over confident . I’m good at math and I think I’m about to get overconfident too! But I realized it so I’m getting more careful now.
Now that I know I can say that when I m not careful I make very silly mistakes like doing incorrect additions or other miscalculations. And it would result in an incorrect answer all together. I think I do calculations wrong when I do them very fast or if I don’t read the question properly.
On conclusion don’t be overconfident even when you know your stuff!

Hi Abhi – great post. The last line could also be – don’t be over confident even if you *think* you know your stuff. This topic has been a great interest to many psychologists over the years. Counter-intuitively, over-confidence comes from ignorance and confidence from knowledge – trouble is, it is often difficult to tell the difference between the two. If you are interested, look up “Dunning Kruger Effect”. Great post, as always.
Interesting I’ll look into that.
